This full time position supports the Acoustical Research Group at our Test, Engineering and Research Division in El Segundo, CA.
The qualified candidate, under the direction of architect, will provide acoustical modifications to residential dwellings for federally funded local sound insultation programs. Such programs generally provide retro-fit acoustically rated windows and doors to homes under the airport flight path. Duties include: residentiall site visits and field assessments of existing construction; CAD generated plans, acoustic design, reviewing final plans with homeowners and plan check submittals. Additional duties may include managing design work, quality control, bid document preparation (specifications and details), attending contractor walk-throughs, answering contractor requests for information (RIF) and request for change order (RFCO), and reviewing product submittals.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Architecture or closely related field with a minimum of two years professional experience required.
Experience:
Candidate must be have prior residential sound insulation and residential architectural experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
