Smith Bros., a finish carpentry, millwork, and general contracting company in Westlake Village, is looking for a dynamic, results oriented individual with finish carpentry/millwork estimating experience to join our team. The estimator is responsible for developing timely and accurate takeoffs from residential and/or commercial bids that include detailed millwork, finish carpentry, doors and windows. He/She is also responsible for preparing bid documents, development of clearly written and professional correspondence, and follow up for the bidding process.
The qualified candidate’s skills and knowledge requirements:
• Perform accurate, thorough and timely quality takeoffs for all levels of project documents (architectural drawings, design development and construction details)
• Extensive knowledge of residential and/or commercial building and finish carpentry, doors and windows specifications
• At least 3 years millwork/custom carpentry estimating experience
• Working knowledge of construction takeoff and estimating software programs
• Demonstrate organization and time management skills
• Superior interpersonal and written/oral communications skills with the ability to cooperate with team members and clients
• Develop accurate and concise clarifications and assumptions
• Demonstrate problem solving skills
• Develop accurate estimates and scopes of work
• Ability to work on numerous tasks at one time
• Demonstrate computer skills on various programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Sage Software
