Currently, we have a great opportunity for a Senior Technical Artist in our Los Angeles, CA office. If you want to work in a fast-paced, creatively challenging high-tech environment, this is the place for you.
You will work closely with the Art team and Art Director to identify and create technical constraints and tools to maintain a coherent vision of the game’s look and feel and ensure that the game has a beautiful stylish appearance. Candidates need to be extremely technical and familiar with modeling, effects, and texturing as well as a working knowledge of the industry’s popular 3D tools.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years experience supporting Art teams in a technical role and 5 years total as a Game Artist
* Ability to collaborate with the Art Director to help him understand the options he has w/ regards to new breakthroughs
* Understand how to write, tune and use shaders to enhance the visual quality of the game
* Must effectively understand the use of saturation, brightness balance, etc
* Must have a passion for efficient art pipelines, color, lighting, texturing, and modeling
* Must have a high proficiency with Maya, Mel Scripting and Photoshop
* Must work efficiently within deadlines
* Must be credited on at least one commercially released game as Technical Artist.
* Must be an aggressive, positive, and motivated team player
* Must have solid communication skills
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of four years related experience and/or training
Desired
* Experience directing multiple resources towards a common goal
* Experience with a breadth of the latest 3D programs and utilities.
* Strong foundation in the traditional arts especially environmental and/or architectural illustration
* Avid RTS or RPG gamer with a passion for creating top-notch games.
* Computer science background
