The Art Institute of California - Hollywood, a Los Angeles based design college is one of the Art Institutes, America’s leader in postsecondary career-oriented education for the creative arts. We offer degree programs in Interior Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, and Web Design & Interactive Media, Set & Exhibit Design, and Visual Effects & Motion Graphics. We are located in the arts district of North Hollywood near Lankershim and Magnolia.
The Art Institute of California - Hollywood is looking for a part-time instructor to teach in the Graphic Design program. Our classroom sizes are small, and our labs include the latest in technology and software. Preparing academic curriculum and developing lesson plans is an important part of this position.
We are currently hiring for our Fall Quarter which begins October 5, 2009. The classes are 4 hours in length and run for 11 weeks. Classes may be scheduled for Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (morning/afternoon classes) or evenings from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The course offered is:
FS122 Image Manipulation
Students develop basic image manipulation skills in a raster-based computer environment. Emphasis is placed on mastering the fundamentals of scanning, color management, photo retouching, imaging, special effects and filters and masks.
• Candidates have a Bachelor’s Degree but preference is given to candidates with Master’s level degrees in graphic design or related disciplines.
• Candidates must have strong graphic design and interface design skills, and in-depth experience with appropriate industry software (specifically Adobe Photoshop).
• Previous experience in teaching at a post secondary school environment or training is highly desirable.
• Must have references and a professional portfolio documenting your work.
