EF Foundation for Foreign Study, a non-profit organization headquartered in Boston, is seeking Local Coordinators to help us expand our 30-year international student exchange program throughout Greater Los Angeles. At this time, we are looking to hire multiple Coordinators. The ideal candidate for this position is an engaged member of the community who is passionate about education, is inspired by young people, is organized, and is well-connected and well-regarded by your neighbors. As a Local Coordinator, you can work part-time and earn cash plus travel / merchandise rewards for reaching certain milestones.
Your primary responsibilities will be establishing relationships with local high schools who agree to accept foreign exchange students for September and/or January, finding caring host families who want to open their home to a vibrant, foreign teenager, and supervising those students throughout the school year. Local Coordinators are recruiters, mentors, "den-mothers," teachers, ambassadors and advisors. You will be trained locally and supported by managers both in your region and from the home office in Boston. EF Foundation is recognized as the leader in foreign exchange, and is differentiated from our competitors by the support we offer our field staff.
You will determine how involved you are by the number of students you place and supervise. Many of our Coordinators have full-time jobs, work for EF as a couple, are stay-at-home moms, or are retirees with a desire to give back. All Coordinators must be at least 25 years of age, live in the continental United States, and be eligible for work in the United States.
Foreign exchange students see America through optimistic and curious eyes! The biggest reward of being involved with EF Foundation is making the dreams of these exceptional teens come true, and forever enriching your community and the lives of the families you connect. We hope you will consider applying for this position, and please pass it along to friends, too!
