Director of Research Innovation and Development:
The Director of Research Innovation and Development will stimulate research innovation, inter-disciplinary team and intra- and inter-institutional collaborations and networks at AXIS, a Clinical and Translational Research Center focused on eliminating health disparities at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science. He or she will be responsible to helping to develop research strategic initiatives, train collaborators in the research innovation process, manage research think tanks and assist in the development of new proposals. He or she should have excellent teambuilding, interpersonal, speaking and writing skills. He or she will help to actively develop and manage research partnerships and networks with other Clinical and Translational Research Centers and health disparities focused research institutions. He or she will be responsible for the identification and development of new funding opportunities and proposals. He or she will report directly to the Center Director.
Requirement:
• PhD in the basic, clinical, behavior, social or organizational management sciences. Masters level candidates will be considered with extensive experience.
• Seven or more years in organizational, innovation or research management.
• Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
• Experience with the development and protection of intellectual property desirable.
• Experience in stimulating and managing social and inter-disciplinary research networks highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work well with research scientists, administrators and community collaborators.
• Experience with NIH grant application and reporting practices.
Salary commensurate with experience.
