The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the planning, maintenance and development of a database. This person will ensure that data remains consistent across the database, it is clearly defined, users access data concurrently in a form that suits their needs, and there is provision for data security and recovery control. The Database Administrator is responsible for the environmental aspects of a database which include recoverability, integrity, security, availability, performance, and development and testing support. This person must have skills that are necessary to lead the organization in successful design, implementation, and administrator of SQL Server 2008 MySQL databases.

Responsibilities:
• Planning data flows for a new or revised database
• Mapping out the conceptual design for a planned database in outline
• Documentation for change management
• Considering both back end organization of data and front end accessibility for end users
• Testing new systems
• Maintaining data standards
• Controlling access permissions and privileges
• Ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
• Communication regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure the database integrity and security
• System Architecture and Data Modeling
• Other duties as assigned by the Development Manager
Qualifications:
• 5+ years relative experience, preferably with gaming industry experience
• 4 year college degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lead and train department employees to enhance their technical knowledge / skills
• Ability to utilize at least 2 different RDBMS to the fullest extent
• Proven hands on experience is required
• Willingness to work additional hours and travel when needed
