Job Description:
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Technology department. This person will focus on the administration of the office network infrastructure to include desktop PC’s, Macs, servers, network equipment, and software applications. The Systems Administrator will access and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the systems operation and make recommendations for implementation.
Relationships:
Works under the direction of the Director of IT. This position requires excellent customer service and organizational skills to office personal.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications.
- Manage Outlook E-Mail
- Install new / rebuild existing servers and configuration hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage ect. In accordance with the standards and project/operational requirements.
- Developers, maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key process, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Assists in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
- Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
- Creates and maintains good technical documentation.
- Provides emergency on-call support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree is required. Have at least 5 years of senior network/systems experience is required.
Experience: Several years experience with Windows Server platforms as well as Unix based. Strong background in Exchange messaging system. Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations to include experience with routers and switches, Internet Firewalls, and wireless technology. Basic Windows scripting skills. Experience setting up and managing database systems such as SQL Server. Background supporting telephone systems such as Broadcore. Advance hardware and software troubleshooting skills. Maintains quality customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and is a team player with the ability to work well independently. Must possess above average organization skills, excellent communications skills, and can demonstrate problem solving skills. Considered an out of the box thinker and displays a willingness to learn.
