NBC Universal is seeking short term contractors that are internet savvy and have a technology background. This position is a “behind the scenes technical social networker.”
Knowledge of Internet piracy, including Peer-to-Peer, User Generated Content, Live Stream, and Direct Download sites is preferred.
Pay rate: $16/hour
Shifts: Day, Swing and Graveyard
Responsibilities:
• Monitor the Internet for infringing content and pirate activities
• Maintain detailed process logs and communicate with team to ensure quality monitoring
• Perform thorough investigation of web sites and video sources
Qualifications:
• Strong attention to detail
• Team player, self- motivated
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
• Capable of exercising discretion and maintaining integrity
• Strong organizational and technical skills
Skills & Software:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Mastery of advanced search engine techniques
• Firm understanding of HTML and URL structure
• Understanding of common Internet protocols and file types. For example, AVI files vs. FLV and HTTP vs. FTP
• Comfortable working with Firefox browser and plug-ins
Desired:
• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field. Near completion OK
• Experience in network administration, social networking, web design, video engineering, or programming is a plus
