If so, Wiredrive, the industry standard web application for online production and presentation, is looking for a QA engineer to execute hands-on testing and test planning through all phases of the software release life cycle. The QA/support engineer reports to the production manager and is responsible for evaluating and adapting our test strategy as priorities and schedules shift. The ideal candidate would have a strong track record of leveraging automation, developing new tools/automated test suites, evaluating test coverage, providing high-quality feedback on the state of the product while building a strong working relationship with the development team. Wiredrive is a web-based application platform for creative professionals and content producers. The application is primarily used to organize and present video and other rich media for sales, promotions, and in-production purposes. Wiredrive is recognized as the standard for online presentation of work-in-progress and multi-media presentations for the advertising and entertainment production industries.
Job description and responsibilities (daily tasks and expectations)
Understand requirements and technical designs
Develop test frameworks in Selenium for UI regression test automation
Design test strategies, develop test tools and implement test cases to ensure highest quality deliverables. Conceptualize, implement and execute front end and back-end test scripts for maintenance and new feature releases
Create test scripts used for Web Services API and UI Automation
Work with product managers, programmers, and technical staff to ensure high-quality user experience
Work with support staff to replicate and evaluate end user problems
Perform website development tests and log defects
Required skills and abilities
Locals only: Applicants must be able to work onsite in our Marina Del Rey office
Crazy good at communicating effectively (Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential)
Ridiculously good problem solving skills
Experience in implementing QA methodologies, procedures & documentation.
Hands-on experience in creating automated tests.
Experience in developing QA automation framework and tools (eg. PHPUnit, Selenium).
Fluent in scripting languages (eg. Unix Shell Script, Javascript, PHP, Python).
Strong understanding of video encoding.
Experience in web security for high volume sites
Competent in Unix operating system.
Experience in AJAX, HTML, JSON, and XML.
Ability to write acceptance criteria for new features in simple business language
Ability to work closely with developers and enable them to produce the best work possible
A high level of initiative and a strong commitment to job knowledge, productivity, and attention to detail
Preferred candidates will have:
Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum)
Knowledge of commercial/film production process
Ability to troubleshoot networking problem
Web Service experience with XML, JSON, REST, and AJAX a history testing APIs
Experience in Web Application Security.
Experience in Web Monitoring, Profiling.
