Mission Statement
PeekaBoo PlayLand is an indoor playground that provides a safe, educational and entertaining environment for children. With our facility and the services we provide we are striving to be an asset to the community that is as family-friendly, progressive, artistic and unique as the neighborhood of Eagle Rock itself.
Location
PeekaBoo PlayLand is located in one of the most prominent Art Deco buildings in the heart of Eagle Rock, on the corner of Colorado Boulevard and Maywood Avenue. Most of the great schools, acclaimed restaurants and popular coffee shops of Eagle Rock are just a short walk away.
Facility
Our building’s 3,300 square feet are split up between a main play area with cathedral ceilings, a spacious mezzanine, two activity rooms and two bathrooms. Whether it’s hot or rainy and gray outside, the climatized indoor playground is always the perfect setting for play dates and parties.
PeekaBoo PlayLand is designed to ignite children’s imagination and drive to explore as they climb up our gigantic “stork’s nest”, slide down the tube slide, jump in the inflatable bouncer-slide combo, dive into the baby ball pit, put on a show in the puppet theater, hide out in the little cottage, get creative in the beach-themed reading/arts&crafts room, change in and out of costumes in the dress-up nook or whip up a pretend gourmet meal in the children’s play bistro. From playing with the train tables to wheeling around their baby dolls in mini strollers, from driving around small cars to climbing over softplay structures, we guarantee your child will have a blast.
While their kids are enjoying the playground, caregivers can easily keep an eye on them while socializing with their peers, browsing or working on the internet through free Wi-Fi access, reading in-house magazines and enjoying a fresh cup of complimentary coffee.
Meals can be ordered from one of the many excellent nearby eateries, since Peekaboo welcomes all outside food. Or parents and caregivers can opt to simply come back after lunch, because each pass is good all day with unlimited ins and outs.
The ambience at PeekAboo PlayLand appeals to the senses of both children and adults through a combination of visual arts, sound, music and poetry. The emphasis is on promoting harmonious coexistence and respectful interaction with nature and all living beings. Even our bath and changing rooms have individual themes with displays of beautiful artwork.
Our unique child-friendly custom paintings by an acclaimed European artist are painted on canvas and are both decorative and inspiring.
During open play and parties, children and adults can enjoy select music of both classical and contemporary genres. Authentic nature sounds, well-padded grass and wood-like floors in addition to huge windows will create the illusion of playing in a serene and airy outdoor setting, rather than a carpeted, fluorescent-lit warehouse.
Boo’s Beach Shack houses a cozy, cushioned reading corner and a play area with games, puzzles, musical toys, as well as arts & crafts tables. The sounds of ocean waves and tropical birds enhance the atmosphere.
Peeka’s Bistro is designed to resemble a stylish café with a retro play kitchen set, as well as dining tables and a mini check-out counter complete with an authentic 60’s cash register.
The “secret dress-up nook” invites kids to try on dozens of costumes and shoes from a wooden chest and pose in front of low-hanging mirrors.
Services
Open Play:
Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. we are open for play time. Admission is $8 per child and free for adults ($1 sibling discount). Coffee and Wi-Fi services are included. Please be advised that our staff is not responsible for watching the children, hence a supervising adult must accompany each child during open play.
Private Parties:
The facility can be rented for unforgettable private parties, celebrating events such as birthdays, graduations, baptisms, school outings and family reunions. Please see the PeekaBoo Party Packages brochure or our website for details and pricing. You can call our party coordinator Nancy at (323) 839-0872 with questions or to book your event.
Drop-Off Camps:
During winter and summer breaks we offer weekly drop-off camps. Please refer to the PeekAboo FunCamp flyer or our website for more info.
Classes and Workshops for Adults:
We offer various regular classes, such as Pilates & Play, kids’ workouts and a variety of workshops on family-related topics such as
parenting, nutrition and children’s first aid. Please check our website for upcoming special events and class schedules.
Weekend Baby-Sitting (coming soon):
Friday and Saturday nights from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. (hours may vary) we offer a baby-sitting service for parents who want to enjoy a well-deserved night out. The fee is $8/hour with a two-hour minimum.
Day Camp (coming soon):
From 2.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. we offer a day camp for children ages 5 through 8 attending local elementary schools.
Gift Store (coming soon):
Located on our upstairs mezzanine is a store for eco-friendly gifts, clothing and toys.
