Perhaps amongst the most valuable things a person can learn in life, is unfortunately not taught in our schools—and that is, how to keep our emotions in control. Too often, we find ourselves helpless victims of very distressing emotional states that seem to overtake us and block us from effectively handling the situations in our lives. And we often feel powerless in doing anything about it.
It is very difficult to think clearly and explore our options when we are overwhelmed by emotions. But when we are calmer and our bodies are no longer charged by the unpleasant chemistry of emotional distress, our perspective changes and this allows us to focus and employ logic and realism to the problems and difficulties that we face.
When you visit a RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL meeting, you will hear testimonies on how practicing and applying the RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL Method has changed lives and has empowered people to take control over distressing emotional states. People who have long suffered from anxiety, depression, stress, temper problems, low self-esteem, impulsivity, obsessive thinking, sleep problems, panic attacks, etc. report that they are now able to curtail these distressing emotional states and as a result are able to handle life’s problems more effectively.
RECOVERY INTERNATIONAL, founded in 1937, is a non-profit international organization, with 600 groups world-wide. Visit one of the numerous meetings in the Los Angeles area, and hear the testimonies on how this method has changed lives.
